Program Cover

Concert programs are informational booklets containing information about what the orchestra is playing, the orchestra director, any special guests, and the members of the orchestra. This program book would contain concert information for the whole year so the client specifically requested a simple, modern design that could last the whole year. They wanted the cover to include the following elements:

• The orchestra's logo:

  

• The orchestra's name: "Carmel High School Orchestras"

• The school year: "2018 - 2019"

• The school's colors: blue and gold

In order to keep things simple I limited the design to the required elements and did not add any additional imagery. But in order to prevent it from looking too plain I gave the background some textures related to orchestras.

With that in mind I designed two different compositions with three different textured backgrounds (satin, paper, and violin wood).

I presented the client with the different options and they decided to go with the second design with the violin wood texture background.
